Gato Negro is a musical group of jazz manouche from San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. The jazz manouche, also known as gypsy jazz or hot jazz, is an style of jazz that was born in France around 1930 and is characterized by the absence of percussion and winds, in its original form is composed of guitars, violin and double bass. Its main exponents were Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. In the manouche jazz reflected the style of Gypsy music and style of the traditional music of Europe (klezmer) and the French chanson and musette.
With an extensive repertoire and arrangements manouche and mexican music, Gato Negro, in his own style, create a different proposal for differents audiences. For art and culture events, or just recreational events (wedding , BBQ, etc...) Gato Negro leads the jazz manouche where you are, reviving the sounds of yesterday they have and will continue to impact the rest of the world.

Gato Negro es un grupo musical de jazz manouche de San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. El jazz manouche, también conocido como gypsy jazz o hot jazz, es un estilo del jazz que nace en Francia alrededor de 1930 y se caracteriza por la ausencia de percusión y alientos, en su forma original se compone de guitarras, violÃn y contrabajo. Sus principales exponentes fueron Django Reinhardt y Stéphane Grappelli. En el jazz manouche se reflejan el estilo de la música gitana y el estilo de la música tradicional de Europa (klezmer), asà como la musette y la canción francesa.
Con un amplio repertorio del manouche y arreglos de música mexicana, Gato Negro, en su propio estilo, crea una propuesta diferente para un público y audiencias diferentes. Para eventos de arte y cultura, eventos turÃsticos, o simplemente recreativos (bodas, fiestas, etc…) Gato Negro lleva el jazz manouche a donde estas, reviviendo los sonidos del ayer que han hecho y seguirán haciendo impacto en el resto del mundo.
